The Integration Centre is a non-governmental organisation which is committed to the integration and inclusion of people from immigrant backgrounds in Ireland.

This exhibition includes a number of different calligraphic styles such as Arabic, Kufic, Persian, Pashtu, Naskh, Taliq, Shakisteh (broken) Rihan etc. Most pieces of printed calligraphy are from a book entitled “Gajinh-I Khutoot” which means treasure of calligraphy which was written by Mohammad Ali Attar Heawi and published by the Ministry of Art in Afghanistan in Kabul,1976.

The report highlights issues of concern for nutritional status ,health and wellbeing, particularly weight gain, limited food choice, food poverty, and social exclusion among asylum seekers in the North West of Ireland.

A research published by NASC in 2009, based on interviews with people living in the asylum system in Cork City and hinterland. The report examines the Asylum System in Ireland and the living conditions within Direct Provision accommodation centres in Cork.  www.nascireland.org
