The festival will feature Gospel musicians and singers from Ireland and abroad, including the Dublin Gospel Choir, the Discovery Gospel Choir, the Redeemed Christian Church of God Praise Choir, Gospo Remix, Alva, Shaz Oye and more. A series of workshops will also take place, and will be open to anyone interested in gaining a better understanding of various aspects of gospel music. Workshop will include: the history and development of gospel music; music and integration; song-writing, and choreography.
The festival – an initiative of Metro Éireann – aims to open up gospel music to new audiences in Ireland, and also to act as a tool to promote integration. The launch is taking place in the O’Connell Schools, which have a large number of students from diverse backgrounds.
