Africa Day 2013, 19th-26th May.
This year, Africa Day is an especially important celebration as it will mark the 50th anniversary of Africa Day and African unity. African Film Festival - 24th to the 26th of May.
The Galway One World Centre is hosting its 6th edition of Galway African Film Festival (GAFF). It will present a series of contemporary African feature films, shorts, and documentaries. The line-up includes South African comedy Material, Nigerian drama Last Flight to Abuja, the Irish Premiere of The Lion's Point of View and the acclaimed La Pirogue.
Screenings are all free of charge and will take place at the Huston School of Film & Digital Media on Earl's Island near Galway Cathedral.

Launch of Report on Roma community, 28 May.
NASC invites the public to the launch of their report "In from the Margins - Roma in Ireland: Addressing the Structural Discrimination of the Roma Community in Ireland". The report will be launched by Dr Bernard Rorke, Research and Advocacy Director, Roma Initiatives Office, Open Society Institute and Dr Judy Walsh, Director of the Equality Studies Research Centre, UCD School of Justice.

Integration Support Group (ISG) - Spring Programme
The Jesuit Refugee Service has announced its Integration Support Group (ISG)'s Spring Programme. The ISG is the occasion for asylum seekers, refugees, immigrants to Ireland and Irish citizens to discover the history, culture and society of Dublin City by visiting places of historical note or interest and to facilitate conversation between the various members of the group about their experiences in Ireland and their own culture and history.

Career coach Elizabeth Hutcheson, from Slí Nua Careers, will provide useful tips on the value of mock interviews in the job market on Thursday, 9th May, 2013 from 1.30 pm — 2.30 pm at the Business Information Centre, Dublin 1. All are welcome to come along to this free careers workshop.

This is a free training and work experience initiative, “Journey to Employment”, which seeks to retrain over 700 job seekers in the Healthcare and Food industries. Training will be provided in towns all across the country, as part of the Government’s ‘Momentum Project’. Cpl Group, Ireland’s leading Recruitment Company, works with thousands of employers across various industries on a daily basis and recognises a real demand for workers in both the Healthcare and Food Production sectors.

Fusion Sundays Market @ the Dublin Food Co-op, Second Sunday of each Month.
Fusion Sundays is an international culture market, focusing on ethnic diversity and integration in Ireland. The market will host an array of stalls from around the world, selling a rich selection of arts and crafts, clothes, food, handmade products, and traditional ware. There will also be live music, workshops and activities for children. Fusion Sundays will be held between 11am and 5pm at the Dublin Food Co-op, 12 New Market Square Dublin 8, every second Sunday of the month.

WDAR Community Radio media skills and training
WDAR is a community radio station servicing the Dublin west community. It boasts an eclectic range of programmes delivered by both staff and dozens of volunteers. The station is a valued community service in the area, where people from all backgrounds can meet and discuss issues of concern to them. WDAR outreach officer Damien Clarke devotes much of his time to engaging with community groups and ensuring that their voices are heard. The station runs a series of courses for people from all backgrounds in media training, basic computers and general skills. Dublin South Radio looking for Volunteers
Dublin South Community Radio acts as a focal point for community groups in the area to meet and it offers a voice in the media to those that would otherwise go unheard. While a small number of paid staff keep the place ticking over, it is Volunteers who design the substance of the programmes. In this light, Dublin South Radio is looking for budding Presenters, Producers, Researchers, Sound Engineers, Script Writers, Audio Editors and volunteers to fill every other role in the running of the station.
They provide FETAC accredited training in Community Radio (Level 4 and 5) and Media Literacy (Level 4) where it is desired, and also unaccredited training in Community Radio Broadcasting for anyone who wants to get on air in any capacity.
