Beth Callahan is from New York, and interned with the communications team. She is a student at Boston University, working on obtaining her BA in International Relations with a focus on environment and development, as well as European studies. Prior to this internship she volunteered with Habitat for Humanity’s Boston University chapter. She was enrolled in a semester of study at Dublin City University.
Kayleigh Fretwell from the state of Delaware is a student at Boston University, working on obtaining her BA in International Relations with a focus on regional and cultural politics in Africa. Prior to this internship she volunteered with Peer Health Exchange, an organization that sets out to teach health related topics to students in the Boston Public High School system. During the internship, she was enrolled in a semester at Dublin City University.
Leon Richardson worked as a part time receptionist with the Integration
Centre. Previous to this he interned with the Information and Advocacy team. He has worked with Crosscare Migrant Project and SPIRASI and holds an MSc in Equality Studies and an MBS in Human Resource Management.
Gary Michiel Montiel interned with the communications team. He studies Interdisciplinary Studies at Arizona State University and will graduate this December. He has had hands on experience working with those in areas of conflict having served in The U.S. Army for 4 years and deploying to Kosovo, Albania and Iraq. He is interested in socially responsible and ethical entrepreneurship and plans to continue his education by seeking a Master’s Degree in Public Policy.
Brad Weber interned with the Media and Communications team. He is originally from Rochester, New York and is studying International Business and Economics at The College at Brockport, State University of New York. Before working with The Integration Centre Brad volunteered on work projects in Jamaica and Hungary.
James Ward is a Communicatons Intern. He hails from Donegal originally and has just completed his studies for a BA in Journalism at DCU. He has been involved in fundraising for a number of charities over the years, including AWARE and St. Luke's hospital.He's currently working on a documentary in conjunction with Dublin Community Television examining comedy in emerging minority communities in Dublin. His areas of interest are equality and human rights.
Emma Kuhl is a Development intern from the USA. She is receiving her BA in International Relations & Diplomacy and French in June 2012 from the Ohio State University. She has extensive volunteer experience, working with organisations such as Rotary International, the Salvation Army, and People to People International. Before joining The Integration Centre, she was an intern at the Ohio House of Representatives. Her areas of interest are human rights law, public and international policy, and diplomacy. A native speaker of English, she also speaks French and Russian.
Helen Bartlett is an intern with the Information and Advocacy team in the Western Regional Ofiice. She is a researcher with specialised international experience in forced migration, minority and indigenous rights. Helen has worked with refugees and forced migrants in Europe, Africa and Asia as a legal advisor and advocate. She holds a first class honours LLM in refugee and humanitarian law.
