Internships
The Integration Centre offers internships and volunteering opportunities in all areas of our organisation. In Information and Advocacy; Communications and Public Relations; Fundraising and Events Management; and Administration and Research.
Each area of internships has its benefits and provides valuable experience.
The size and nature of our organisation means that interns make a huge contribution to the work we do. The roles and functions carried out by our interns and volunteers facilitate their professional development and upskilling, as they handle various functions within the organization which greatly enhances the capacity of the organisation.
Public Affairs Intern
The Integration Centre is looking for an intern to join the Public Affairs team for a six month contract.
Location: Dublin, City Centre
Starting date of internship: July until January
The intern will be expected to assist the Director of Public Affairs. Expenses of up to 20 euro per day will be paid to the successful applicant for travel and subsistence. The interested applicant should be available to work 3 days per week, 9.30am-5pm.
Skills Specification:
• Knowledge of and desire to work with asylum-seekers and refugees
• Academic background in communications, and/or political and social sciences
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Good computer skills
• High motivation, positive disposition and a flexible attitude
Job duties
• Write and edit content for website, letters, press releases, public handouts, action alerts, and other communications.
• Assist with the organising of events
• Monitor current integration issues in local media.
• Respond to public affairs inquiries by phone and/or e-mail.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
